The Bohème movement originated in the 19th century and described the non-traditional lifestyles of artists, writers, journalists, musicians, and actors in major European cities.
Bohemians were associated with unorthodox or counter culture political or social viewpoints, which often were expressed through free love, free spiritedness, and simple living. A more economically privileged, wealthy, or even aristocratic bohemian circle also emerged and was referred to as haute bohème.
In the time since the original Bohème movement, several different generations have surfaced. From the hippie bohemian movement of the 1960s, to the more recent Boho movement of the new millennium, the common thread is that it is made up of people who create an unconventional community around embracing nature, art, spirituality, philosophy and the like.
Our Bohème Box follows in the established footsteps of more than 100 years of bohemian pursuits. It is colorful, untroubled, and definitely unhindered by conventional expectations.
