Kama Sutra

Millennia ago, sages in ancient Eastern traditions articulated the blueprint for the fulfillment of human life. The ancient philosophers declared the goals of humankind as Purusharthas. Purusha means an individual or person, and Artha means objective, meaning, or pursuit. The four Purusharthas are:
- Dharma: Duty
- Artha: Wealth
- Kama: Desire
- Moksha: Liberation
Kama is the purushartha relating to fulfilling one’s desires in life. Desires may come in various forms — wealth, power, sexual needs, recognition, etc. The Kama Purushartha advocates that one’s desires need to be fulfilled, but in a state of awareness, without judgement, and without harming anyone in the process.
The Kama Sutra is an ancient Indian Sanskrit text attributed to Vātsyāyana, and is neither exclusively, nor predominantly a sex manual. Instead it was written as a guide to the art-of-living well. It discusses sexuality, eroticism and emotional fulfillment in life. And delves into maintaining love, and other aspects pertaining to pleasure-oriented faculties of human life. With this box, we introduce you to the wisdom of the sages, and hope it inspires your own pursuit of Kama!
